Visiting PSCS

The goal of visitation days and open houses is to gain additional information about the school and to help determine if the school provides a good fit with the prospective student and family’s educational philosophy.

Visitation Day
It is difficult to understand PSCS without coming to school and observing our activities and student life. Seeing the school in action -- and even participating along with students and staff -- can make the difference between having a basic appreciation of our philosophy and the aha! of really "getting" how it works.

A school visit is an important part of the admission process, allowing us to meet your child as well as giving them the opportunity to see the classrooms and experience our outstanding teaching staff. Students and families receive a tour and orientation. Visitors are encouraged to interact with students and staff and to participate in school activities. We will try to get all questions answered.

For your convenience the Visitation Day schedule is available to aid in your planning.

Open House
Open House is an all-school event hosted for prospective families. Our faculty, current parents, and volunteers are in attendance to share information about our program and answer any questions you may have.

  • Open Houses are held three times a year, November through mid-February.
  • This exciting event is held for families interested in applying to junior high and high school.
  • The event begins in Room 111 with a few opening remarks and then families are encouraged to tour the school, meet with faculty and chat with current parents. We will also host discussion throughout the Open House, led by our Founder and current Director Andy Smallman, highlighting the student-centered teaching model and its benefits to our students.
